Tours
Frequently
Asked
Questions

Q. I have never ridden abroad before, so what happens if I am not as fast as everyone else?

A. Our tours are aimed at those travelling abroad on their motorcycles for the first time, so please don’t panic as you will probably not be alone in your thinking. We always ride at the slower pace, but we are happy for others to ride at a faster pace so long as they are not endangering any other rider and obeying the rules of the road.

Q. How far do we ride?

A. The furthest we ride in 1 day is 100 miles. However, we constantly monitor the group and if necessary will shorten the distance in the interests of safety and enjoyment.

Q. What happens if I breakdown?

A. Firstly we always ask that you take out breakdown insurance for the duration of the tour. However, if the worst happens you will not be left alone as one of the guides will remain with you. However, from experience normally the whole group stay to assist such as the camaraderie in the biking world.

Q. What happens if I get lost?

A. Hopefully you will not get lost because we use a drop off system and employ a ‘tail end Charlie’ to ensure that the chances of losing someone are very slim. If you do get lost give us a call and we will come and find you

Q. Is my bike safe when parked at the hotel?

A. As we are all fully aware nothing is 100% safe these days, however the hotel has a secure car park which we hope will go some way in letting you have a worry free night’s sleep. We recommend you bring a lock to add to the security should you wish to do so.

Q. What types of bike come on your tours?

A. We have all types of bike from sports bikes to tourers and everything in between. Because of the nature of the tour so long as your bike is capable of about 70mph then you are more than welcome.

Q. Do you cater for vegetarians?

A. Our Tours are sold on a Bed and Breakfast basis, with the hotel providing a ‘continental’ style breakfast. Evening meals can be taken in the Hotel where you can request a vegetarian meal, or you can venture out into the town centre. However please note that France are not quite as forward thinking when catering for vegetarians. Please feel free to contact us to discuss further.

Q. How many bikes do you take on a tour?

A. We take a maximum of 8 client bikes plus the 2 guides. Therefore, a maximum of 10 bikes, which we feel is as large as you want to be.

Q. Some Tour companies fold and people have lost money. Is my money safe with you?

A. By law your money has to be either bonded or placed in a trust fund. We use the trust fund method which means we can not touch your money until you have returned from your tour. That way if anything happens to Sunday Rideout Ltd whilst you are away, or before you go, you will have your money returned to you.

Q. Do I have to wear a reflective jacket?

A. Currently it is not compulsory for two wheeled vehicles to carry a reflective jacket, or a warning triangle, or spare bulbs. However, should this change we will contact you as soon as possible. Please refer to the AA website for the latest information and the rules for riding in France.
